The Farmer

A herd of cows grazing on green grass in a field under a partly cloudy sky, with a large cow with prominent horns in the foreground.

In the low-lying polders of the Netherlands, where the sun rises over lush meadows, our farmers begin their day. These dedicated men and women, with generations of knowledge and craftsmanship, care for their cows with love and passion.

Generations of tradition

Every morning and evening, they milk their cows, a tradition passed down from father to son and mother to daughter. The gentle sounds of the barn, the quiet chewing of the cows, and the calm presence of the farmer create a ambiance blend of peace and dedication.

A way of life

For these farmers, milking the cows is more than a daily ritual; it is a way of life. Their children grow up among the cows, learning early the importance of care and responsibility for animals and nature. The whole family works together to preserve these precious traditions and knowledge.

Some of our farmers go a step further. They are cheesemakers themselves, proudly crafting farmhouse cheese from their own cows’ milk. With care and precision, they prepare the cheese, which over time transforms into a true delicacy, rich in flavor and character.
