Coffee Gouda Toast with Honey & Almonds

A cosy café-style breakfast you can make at home in minutes. Toasted artisan bread topped with soft Coffee Gouda, honey, crunchy nuts and a pinch of sea salt — simple, indulgent and just right for slow mornings.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices artisan bread or brioche
  • 2 slices Coffee Gouda
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp crushed almonds or hazelnuts
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Optional extras

  • 2 slices fresh fruit (pear, apple or figs) on the side
  • 1 tsp chia or flax seeds sprinkled on top

How to Make It

  1. Toast your bread or brioche slices until golden and crisp.
  2. While the toast is still warm, lay Coffee Gouda slices on top and let them soften slightly.
  3. Drizzle with honey, letting it catch around the edges of the cheese.
  4. Sprinkle over crushed almonds or hazelnuts and finish with a small pinch of sea salt.
  5. Serve immediately while the toast is warm and the Coffee Gouda is soft and aromatic.

Perfect pairings

  • Flat white, cappuccino or oat latte.
  • A cheeky affogato after brunch.
  • Fresh berries or sliced fruit on the side if you want to brighten the plate.
